Meet Don

By day, Don liberates Goldfish from petshops and returns them to the wild, understanding that 'none of us are free until all of us are free'.

By night, Don performs in the local nightclub under his Drag Queen alter ego 'Mariana Wench', to rapturous applause.

(As it made the regional news some months back, Don would like it to be known that it took him a while to understand that goldfish are not saltwater fish and he's deeply sorry for that first rescue attempt. Turns out you actually can kill things with kindness after all)

This was one of my favourite pieces of wood to work with, it alteady had such charater. Don is freestanding in his delightful curved, tail up pose.

The driftwood is treated ready to work with and then gently whittled, burned and gilded into a one-of-a-kind pieces of art, ready to tell their tales from across the oceans.
